Book Event: Stephen Benatar on the East Coast

I know I talk a great deal about Stephen Benatar and his book (yes, Wish Her Safe at Home).  But, well, here's one more thing.

He's coming to the US!  Sadly, Chicago is not one of the cities that he will be visiting on his short tour, but if you live in New York or Boston, then you can go see him and tell him on my behalf how amazing a writer he is.  From a quick search for his books on Amazon.co.uk, it looks like he often goes up to people in stores, book in hand, and tells them to buy his work.  Talk about marketing yourself!  That sounds like it could be very awkward, but from what it looks like on Amazon, those that bought his books liked them.  So I suppose he knows how to pick his readers.

If you happen to be in New York or Boston at the end of February and want a literary event to make you feel intellectual and high-brow, here are the details on where and when you can catch Benatar:

  1. Hah! And I am always jealous of the authors who come to Chicago! :--) (but of course, I am neither on the coast nor in a big city, so there's a lot of places for me to envy!)

  2. I'd love to go and visit him on your behalf, ;-) But sadly, both NY and Boston are too far away for me, in spite of being on the East Coast! It definitely sounds awkward to market yourself, as Stephen Benatar does, but he sure seems to pick the right readers! ;-)

  3. Rhapsody- I always had a vague idea of you in a city somewhere! Where do you live?

Aths- I understand. The east coast is a big coast :-) Maybe next time he'll come to you!

  4. Ahh Benatar again, I do remember him, sadly the library did not have him.

Btw, bought a fantasy book today :) It was such a bargain so when I bought a V card I could not stop myself.
    have you read Nick Perumov?

  6. Oh, how I wish I were going to be in an area where I could see him! We don't get many authors in our town, which is sad. I actually took my kids to a book signing event at a big box store about 35 miles away last weekend, only to discover that the author was not there at all! Someone got the information skewed and we ended up driving all that way for nothing! But if I were going to be there, I would tell him you are his most ardent fan, for sure!!

  7. I live in upstate NY and we never get any authors or any cool book events.

My library doesn't carry this book, so it is in my cart at Amazon waiting til I have $25 worth for free shipping. And waiting until all my bills are paid before I buy books:)

I won't be in any of those places but I did have to let you know that I so enjoyed your review that I've gotten this book for myself and will hopefully read it soon. I hope someone gets to see him, he sounds like quite a character. I'd love an author to come up to me and hand me their book.
