Tuesday Thingers!

Do you tag? How do you tag? How do you feel about tagging- do you think it would be better to have standardized tags, like libraries have standardized subject headings, or do you like the individualized nature of tagging? What are your top 5 tags and what do they say about your collection or your reading habits?
Yes, I do tag every book. Sometimes I don't know how to tag them, so I look at how others have tagged that book and just copy those. I think some standard tags would be nice (such as TBR), but I do like the flexibility of it. However, I don't like how tags are apparently case-sensitive. I have had to go to the "Tags" tab and consolidate tags just because sometimes I write in upper-case and sometimes I write in lower-case. I think this is annoying.

My top five tags are:

Historical Fiction (287)
TBR (262)
England (216)
Fantasy (173)
Georgian/Regency (125)

I think that says about me what most people already know- I love historical fiction, specifically that from the Georgian and Regency periods. And I also read a lot of fantasy. And have a lot of reading to go, obviously! One book at a time is all I can manage, though :-)

  1. I wish I could read faster, but in a way I don't. Just thinking about all the indepth stuff I'd miss if I skimmed.

The case sensitive thing is a bit of an issue. But I think I read somewhere on LT that there are reasons for it. What they are I don't know.

I've also had a problem with upper/lower case. I never remember to do it the same way each time!

Oh, and in case you didn't know, the Tuesday thingers posts are created by Marie aka the boston bibliophile. You can find her Tuesday Thingers prompts here.

She posts the topic every Tuesday, and you can leave the link to your answer in the comments. That way people can go through the comments to see everyone's answers.

Oh, is that why tags are helpful! I'm pretty sure I haven't tagged anything. I've barely begun to log my books.

I'll have to check out your library queue though.

I never did tag, and now I kind of regret it, but also feel it is too late to start and too much effort to go back and tag everything.
    But I think their useful.
