Generally I enjoyed stories from an animal's point of view, but I felt I really didn't "get" this one at the time, but it's possible I would enjoy it now perhaps? Though the invisibility of the female rabbits would annoy me.Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7343567357202223317.post-73435974519003543982013-12-16T21:03:04.481-06:002013-12-16T21:03:04.481-06:00Yes! Truth! I read it as an adult and loved it. Ji...Yes! Truth! I read it as an adult and loved it. Jill, you should read it, but you should expect for it to be terrible. That could be the solution. It's about a psychic bunny rabbit and his bunny friends. How dumb is that? You will probably hate it. #helpfulJenny @ Reading the Endhttp://readingtheend.comnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7343567357202223317.post-23767072899419177662013-12-16T09:35:20.445-06:002013-12-16T09:35:20.445-06:00I quit on this one in disgust a few years back whe...I quit on this one in disgust a few years back when I realised the female rabbits were never going to get any attention paid to them. Plus I was bored too. ;) And I find the author's statement in the preface even more obnoxious as a possible justification for such sexism. But it seemed like it WOULD succeed as an audiobook! That, and that Watership Down could never possibly be a good audiobook read. I'm not saying that as a criticism; some books just aren't suited to it. I read Watership Down as an adult, so read-it-as-a-kid-and-now-nostalgic doesn't explain my love for it. But I went into it with NO expectations, and I think that made a huge difference. I thought it was going to be dumb, and instead it was so exciting.

Sorry you didn't like it! :( I feel that I contributed to your disappointment by loving it so much!Jenny @ Reading the Endhttp://readingtheend.comnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7343567357202223317.post-46626681353504810872013-12-13T06:39:12.596-06:002013-12-13T06:39:12.596-06:00I'm so glad you're saying this, because I ...I'm so glad you're saying this, because I remember reading it (but I don't remember it, itself) and loving it so much, and now every once in a while I think I should read it again because I don't remember it, but NOW, I think I'll pass!
