And she shows how in a way that power is even more significant than that of the men who come and go. Preserving the story and passing it along is real power.Teresahttps://www.blogger.com/profile/09896331683344872038noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7343567357202223317.post-44282981623932662952013-04-25T15:46:31.495-05:002013-04-25T15:46:31.495-05:00I'm reading this now and though I'm less t...I'm reading this now and though I'm less than 200 pages into it, I love it already. I feel I'm progressing very slowly because of having to concentrate so hard on the unfamiliar names and complicated relationships, but like all of Dunnett's books it's definitely worth the effort. And I agree with you about Groa - she would be on my list of non-annoying heroines too, if I had one!Helenhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/06618973352348296555noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7343567357202223317.post-90437836603272961392013-04-25T14:15:59.384-05:002013-04-25T14:15:59.384-05:00Yeah maybe, I am not one of many wordsYeah maybe, I am not one of many wordsBlodeueddhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/03435479623560871881noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7343567357202223317.post-7403378806160827632013-04-25T11:53:08.560-05:002013-04-25T11:53:08.560-05:00This was a beautiful review, and I think you have ...This was a beautiful review, and I think you have finally convinced me to try a Dunnett..this one to be exact. I love the way you extrapolate so much about Groa's life and love for her husband out of what Dunnett writes, and I also think that the passage that you picked was especially poignant. It is so true that women are often the ones left to tell the stories, and to keep the flames intact. I would love to see what I make of this one, and think you did an outstanding job reviewing it. :)Zibileehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/07443338685890187334noreply@blogger.com
